Not what an American expects when confronted with the word "Nottingham".  It's a crowded, busy city, with more shopping centers than you can shake a bow at.  I have yet to make it to what's left of Sherwood Forest, centuries ago it sprawled for countless miles over what is now farmland & hedgerows with a few stands of trees & thickets.

The people of the area are convinced that Robin Hood did exist some time in the 12th century, though all they have to go on are two tiny (different) names on ancient ledgers.  Though even now Nottingham has a sheriff, but only for the sake of the tourists.
